Nars Purchases!

I bought some cool stuff from Nars the other day. I initially really wanted a smudge brush to make my signature smokey brown liner easier to do, but of course I bought other products as well.

The NARS Hydrating Moisture Cream is by far the most amazing face cream ever. It is perfect for day and night. I use it during the day and it gives my skin the healthiest glow, I also use it at night because it is so moisturizing. It's a little expensive but I think skincare is even more important than makeup. If you don't have good skin makeup can only do so much! Also the cream doesn't break me out.

Dolce Vita blush is my new favorite at the moment. It makes the perfect naturally rose color blush on my cheeks.

Coconut Grove has also become one of my staples. I use this to smoke out my brown liner, to line my upper lash line and to fill in my brows. It's the perfect cool tone super dark brown color.

I bought the Nars Smudge Brush (number 15) and I am obsessed with it, I use it everyday to smoke out my liner, and to fill in my brows.

Having multi tasking products (one brush for liner and brows, one color for liner and brows, one cream for day and night) has helped me get ready in less than 15 mins in the morning. I highly suggest you guys try to find products and brushes that can be used on more than one area of your face! It makes things so much quicker!

Clarins

Right now I am totally into Clarins. I never really thought of this brand before because it looks a bit bland...no offense. Clarins is located right next to my local Nars counter (my all time favorite makeup brand), I decided to give it a try since I have heard their skincare was really good and made with all natural ingridents. I bought the Contour Eye Gel, deodorant and Instant Light Lip Protector. The lady was so sweet and gave me a ton of free gifts with my purchases, love Clarins! I can honestly say I love all of the products I bought and I will be probably be repurchasing all of them.

Contour Eye Gel: This is a lightweight eye cream that sooths and refreshes my eye area. It comes out like a blue gel and it provides moderate moisture. It wears great under makeup and it actually feels like it supports my eye area... it's very strange but I like it! I wouldn't suggest this product for women with very dry skin, but since my skin is super oily this works great for me. You only need the tiniest amount so this will last me a very long time.

Clarins Deodorant: I have been on the search for a deodorant that doesn't contain aluminum and is soothing to my underarm skin. I tried another brand but I had to return it to Sephora because it didn't work and it stung my armpits. This deodorant actually keeps me odor free, doesn't irritate my skin, doesn't stain my clothing and moisturizes my armpits. I will be buying this deodorant from now on unless it stops working for me ( I have heard that can happen with deodorants).

Instant Light Lip Protector: I'm obsessed with this product (along with all of the other Clarins products)! It soothes and moisturizes my lips while making them appear plump. It has a milky pink color that enhances my natural lip color. This over my Dior Lipglow is my all time favorite lip combination. I love "lip treatments" over lipsticks because they keep my lips moist all day long.

Makeup Look with new purchases

New purchases:

I bought two things from Lancome. Their Color Design shadow in Burnt Sand. Its a beautiful golden brown with soft shimmer. I also bought a white eyeliner since I've always wanted one. This one is OK, I'm not sure if I would buy it again it doesn't stay on very long, but I'm not sure if anything does on my waterline! You do get a lot for the price though.

Here is a great soft makeup look I did today with my new Lancome shadow. It's to show that sometimes less is more. It's a great light bronze eye with no liner and long long long lashes!

On Eyes:
1. Lancome Color Design Eyeshadow in Burnt Sand dusted all over lid and lower lashline
2. Darker side of NARS Isolde eyeshadow duo lightly on out v
3. NARS Mekong eyeshadow very very very very (this color is extremely pigmented!) on the outer V and through crease.
4. Lighter side of NARS Isolde eyeshadow duo on inner portion of lid.
5. L'oreal Million Lash Mascara on lashes

On Face:

Chanel Powder in shade Honey
NARS Orgasm Blush (this is my favorite blush in the whole world!!)
NARS Nico highlighter (This is my favorite powder highlighter, it is so subtle)

On Lips:

NARS Chihuahua lip gloss (a light pink lip gloss).

NARS Haul

I purchased a few cute things from NARS recently. After seeing the Victoria Secret Fashion Show I was into bronzy beachy tones with dewy vibrant skin and cheeks. So I bought:

I'm obsessed with NARS primer. It's so thin and soothing on my skin. I've tried the Laura Mercier Primer which is weirdly tacky, when I tried to use it to sheer out my foundation it turned it into a streaky separated mess. I used it under my foundation and it made me look like I was wearing 2 tons of makeup when I wasn't... not cute. On the other hand, the NARS primer is almost like a ultra light moisturizer that makes your skin glow. I put a small amount on my nose and forehead to keep oil at bay and to keep powder on longer.

I only bought two blushes, Gilda and Luster. Gilda is a gorgeous bright pink based coral. It makes my cheeks pop! Luster is a peach apricot with gold shimmer, it's the perfect natural blush that gives me a bronze glow.

Isolde is the perfect beachy bronze and gold toned eyeshadow duo. It's so easy to create that effortlessly bright eyed Victoria Secret look with these colors. I apply the lighter shade to my lower lashline to instantly brighten up my eyes (or in the tear duct area) and the darker shade lightly all over the lid.

Nico caught my eye because it was the strangest looking blush at the counter. I don't know how to explain it without quoting the NARS website ("a soft focus glow"). This is the most amazing highlighter ever, it's not a sparkly highlighter or a dewy highlighter instead it creates a beautiful glow. You have to try it to see what I am talking about, its beautiful.

Chihuahua is the prettiest pink lip gloss. The lip gloss is really creamy, moisturizing and pigmented. If you want a pouty pink Victoria Secret lip give this a shot.

I have been on the search for a signature red nail polish. I think NARS Jungle Red Fits the bill. It's a beautiful bright red (this is it after one coat). Love it!

Gift with Purchases

Hey guys,

I just wanted to show you the cool gifts with purchases I received with my last makeup buys (the posts below). I got a full size NARS Multiple Duo,Clinique face lotion, Clinique mascara, Laura Mercier sample Face Primer, Laura Mercier sample Lipgloss, full size Clinique Lipstick, Clinique full size eyeshadow duo, Laura Mercier sample face lotion.

My favorite of course is the NARS Multiple duo in Portofino (left) and Malibu (right), because it's full size and the colors are gorgeous. I already have Malibu in a full multiple though, but I love Portofino so I am happy I have them both in a compact.

NARS Paris eyeshadow duo and MAC brushes

The NARS Paris eyeshadow due is a beautiful gray and silver combo. The gray is matte and the silver has a slight shimmer to it, it's more of a satin finish. The great thing about NARS shadows is that if you wet them you can use them as an eyeliner. They are very pigmented and blend like a dream. I love this duo to make a simple quick smokey eye, or to line my eyes in gray instead of brown or black.

I love my new MAC brushes, I use these brushes almost every day along with my NARS Yachiyo. I bought the 210 (fine lining brush) 224 (fluffy blending brush) and the 138 (tapered face brush). I use the 138 to apply my bronzer, because it buffs it in seamlessly. I use the 224 to buff in any concealer ( I saw how great it looked on Pixiwoo). Obviously I use the 210 for my cream eyeliners. I love them all! I would say that every girl needs these brushes, they are staples.

Another NARS haul

Hey guys, I'm a big NARS fan. I stopped by a few counters and bought a few items since there was a 15% off sale!

NARS Blushes: Desire, Gina, Lovejoy,
NARS Nailpolish: Mash
Dior Lipgloss: Ultra Gloss Flash #662
NARS Brush: #27 Yachiyo

This is the best blush brush I own. It makes applying blush so easy and flawless! It's made of super goat hair. This brush picks up the perfect amount of pigment and buffs it into my skin flawlessly. I thought I could get by with my other brushes, and they aren't shabby either (another NARS brush, MAC 138 and a Chanel blush brush) but this brush takes the cake. It makes my most bright blush (NARS Taj Mahal or NARS Exhibit A) look natural and beautiful. I highly recommend this brush if you love NARS blushes, I really think that they look even more beautiful when applied with the Yachiyo brush.

I bought a backup of the Lip Glow because of the sale, I can't be without this lip balm. It tints your lips a custom pink shade. Its grate for the winter when my lips get chapped and red because it's moisturizing. It smells great too.

This is the most beautiful lip gloss. Dior makes my favorite lip glosses because they have great pigment, a smooth non-sticky texture and they are really moisturizing. This color is a pretty warm pink color with sparkles.

I bought a NARS nail polish in the shade Mash. It's part of their limited edition vintage polish collection.

It's a unique olive shade with gold sparkles.

NARS Skincare! I love NARS skincare, I really can see the difference on my face. I bought the Balancing Cleanser which has a beautiful sweet orange sent. This face wash gets off all my makeup including eye makeup (as long as it's not waterproof). I've had no breakouts and all my existing breakouts have cleared up since using the NARS skincare system. I use this cleanser at night along with the Balancing Moisturizer.

After I tone with the NARS moisturizing toner I use the Balancing Moisture Lotion. It absorbs into the skin quickly. It is very light and liquidy so you only need a small amount to cover a large area of your face. My face has become less oily and my acne has gone away. I will update if anything changes. I love this skincare system! I would definitely try the Balancing system if you have oily acne prone skin.

Close up of NARS Desire. Desire is a pretty matte Barbie pink color. This is one of NARS' few matte blushes, and they are equally as beautiful as their shimmer counterparts. It's very very pigmented, I suggest using the NARS Yachiyo brush to apply it because it makes the application sheer and natural.

Close up of NARS Gina. Gina is a pretty light peach. It's also really pigmented so the Yachiyo is perfect for it! It is my favorite peach/orange blush, I like Gina more than Taj Mahal because it is more subtle and more peach. Taj Mahal is a very strong orange color (though it does look very nice when applied with my new Yachiyo), if you find Taj Mahal is too strong I would suggest Gina.

Close up of NARS Lovejoy. This blush looks boring and brown but it's a perfect bronze rose with fine gold shimmer. It looks exactly like a natural flush. I am loving bronze tones right now because they are natural looking and easy to wear.

Swatch of Gina, Lovejoy, Desire.

xoxo

I will be showing you guys my other purchases from the sale and the gift with purchases soon!

NARS Haul

NARS is one of my favorite makeup companies. They have amazing products! I really like that their products are also skin care products as well (their foundation has vitamins and minerals to help your skin, instead of just spackling over your problem areas). So since my local Lord and Taylor was having 15 percent of all cosmetics, I had to go and buy some things!

The makeup artist that were brought in were amazing and matched my skin perfectly, and they recommended some great products that I love already! The counter makeup artist, Marybeth, is always so helpful as well she's great with suggesting interesting colors (like Taj Mahal) that are really pretty on my skin tone.

I bought some stuff for myself and my mom bought some great stuff for us to share.

Sheer Glow Foundation and Casino Bronzer
Sheer Glow Foundation is a light weight foundation I sheer it out even more with the primer and the NARS lotion. Casino is a brown bronzer with gold shimmer that is great for warming up my face.

Gold Rush Powder (gold shimmer)
This is a great gold shimmer powder that can be used to highlight my brow bone and cheek bone. Thanks Marybeth for this gift!

Striptease (beige) and Frisky Summer Lip Gloss (hot pink)
Striptease looks amazing with Barbella, and Frisky Summer is a perfect summer hot corally pink.

Barbarella Lipstick (pinky peach)
This is the perfect peach lipstick, it's super creamy and moisturizing.

Fantasia Lip Liner (light peach)
I needed a peach liner to match the lipstick and Striptease gloss.

Palm Beach Bronzer Multiple (bronzy brown)
I LOVE this multiple, I have 3 and this is definitely my favorite.  It is the perfect bronze color that is great to use as a blush. It instantly gives you that beachy bronze glow.

Albatross Highlighter Powder (sheer light gold)
This is a pretty highlighter powder because the glitter is sheer so it gives a natural glow.

El Delrado Cream Eyeshadow (creamy gold)
Pretty sheer gold eyeshadow, it's great with brown (for day) and black shadows (for night).

Torrid Blush
It's really a pretty coral  pink with gold shimmer but it doesn't show up in this lighting. It's my favorite blush. I actually bought this at Sephora about a week ago when they had the 15 percent off. (A good dupe for this blush is Mai Thai by Milani but it doesn't have the gold shimmer through it)

Primer (they ran out so Marybeth gave me a tester till it is back in stock)
I use this to sheer out my the Sheer Glow and with my tinted moisturizer because I only need a sheer wash of color to even my skin tone.

Brightening Serum
I also use this to mix with my foundation and my tinted moisturizer to sheer them since I don't need heavy coverage. It's a pearlized pink color that really makes your skin glow! You literally have a celebrity glow when you put this on. Also it is supposed to even skin tone over time and it's loaded with good plant extracts, vitamins and minerals for your skin.  (I might review this more in depth later).

Schiap (hot pink) and Versailles (glittery gold)  nail polishes
These colors are so pretty and summery!

I'm so excited to play around more with the products and give more in depth reviews.
